After the ordinary prayer, the Rev. Hr. The governor of this residence proposed in a meeting that it would not be a good idea to let the ship Oosterblocker, currently moored here, arrive on the 28th of Passado-Costia, and have been under way for 10 months, and for the same days, be shipped off with the first one. It was therefore agreed that the aforementioned ship, after having properly consumed its provisions (no considerable necessities would persuade us to extend its stay), should undertake its intended journey to Batavia within 2 or 3 days, and also to bring it to us from there, and to provide our tappers with a litre of Spanish wine, along with 6 barrels of brewed Hoorn beer, as they had been considerably depleted of drinks by the need of the respective departed return fleet.
Finally, the Hoecker will detain the messenger here until Sparendam (who is in daily attendance with rice unloading) has relieved him of this burden, and in order not to let the accumulated costs lie in vain, meanwhile send Saldaniabhaij to fetch a good quantity of fish and other such things for the garrison here and the Company's serfs, provided that the authorities are given such necessary information and a memorandum for a follow-up as may be found.
Thus done and resolved at the Fort of Good Hope, days and years from now.

Gouverneur deser residentie in vergaderinge voorgeslagen off het niet best souwde sijn dat men het thans hier ter rheede leggende schip Oosterblocker sijnde den 28en passadocosti70 aangekomen en 10 maanden, en gelijcke dagen onder weegh t’ soeck geweest, metten eersten af depescheerden, Soo is eenparich goetgevonden gemelden bodem, na behoorlijcke genotene vivres (wes geen merckelijcke necessiteijten ons tot desselfs langer verblijff persuadeeren) sijne gedestineerde reijse wijders na Batavia binnen 2 a 3 dagen te laten ondernemen, mitsgaders uijt deselve te lichten tot ons, en onse tappers gerieff een legger Spaance wijn, nevens 6 vaten ingebrouwen Hoorns bier, als sijnde door de behoefte der respective vertrockene retourvloot van drancken veel ontbloot geworden.
Ten laatsten de hoecker de Bode hier soo langh op te houwen tot dat Sparendam (dagelijcx besich sijnde met rijs lossen) van dien corl hem sal ontlast hebben, en om opgem. bodemptie costi evenwel niet vruchteloos te laten leggen, onderwijlen na de Saldaniabhaij te senden om voor ‘t hier sijnde guarnisoen, en ‘s Comps. lijfeijgenen een goede quantiteijt visch &a. te halen, mits te geven aan d’ overheden desselfs daartoe sodanige nootwendigheden, en memorie tot een naerichtingh als bevonden sal werden te gehooren.
Aldus gedaan, en geresolveert in ‘t Fort d’ Goede Hoop dage, en jare ut antea.
