English translation

After the ordinary prayer, the Honourable Governor proposed and summarized in Council whether the hunt as proposed (having been projected by resolution of the Honourable Commissioner Nicolaes Verburgh to the slave trade to Madagascar) should not have been allowed to undertake the journey with the first, so that (considering the ordinary time and the direct monsoon had now arrived) they did not wish to delay it any longer than against the 15th of this month, in order to allow the said hunt to continue its journey to that end, provided that the chiefs provide such cash, clothing, etc. for that trade and a memorandum for its direction as they found, mostly in the service of the Honourable Company. to belong.68

It is further understood that the officer Sparrendam, having been instructed by resolution of the aforementioned Commissioner on March 11th, to obtain lime for the construction of the new fortification of Mauritius, by excusing the inadequacy found by the inspectors, and that the officer, the stronger and more solid one, was deemed ample enough to take whatever quantity of lime might be in stock there, to be sent to its place, and that Sparrendam should be sent to Batavia immediately (to obtain its proper repair).

Thus resolved at the Fort of Good Hope on the day and year aforesaid.
