In connection with the departure of the ships to seize the island of St. Helena on 12th December, in accordance with the resolution of 30 November previously, 9 chests of cash and four boxes of mirrors were sent from d' Vrijheijt, 4 similar chests of money from Cattenburgh; and from the hooker d' Egel, dispatched with express advice via Ceylon and Malaba to Zuratte, a chest of scarlet, so as to prevent both destruction and loss, were taken ashore here, and everything is heading for Batavia. It is considered that the aforementioned Cash, undoubtedly essential for trade in India, is available for transport on the new ship Hellevoetsluijs, and it is sufficiently prepared for sailing. After previous deliberation, and provided no enemy danger could be foreseen, it was approved and resolved to send twelve or eleven cash chests and other goods on the aforementioned ship to Batavia, and that a chest of ƒ6,000 in payment would be retained to reinforce our ship, ƒ6,600 sent to St. Helena, and ƒ4,000 for the island of Mauritius, sent there with Commander Hugo.
Thus done in Fort de Goede Hoope on the date and year as above.
