English translation

With regard to Lieutenant Sr. Joannes Coon in Rade indicated that his agreed departure to Batavia had appeared all too subdued to him, but that after further consideration and consideration it would be very detrimental to him, and therefore he immediately requested to be allowed to continue here for another year. Therefore the Council, after due deliberation, having taken this into consideration, granted his request, in principle, in the light of the fact that up to now in the view of 's Comps. He has satisfactorily demonstrated his vigilance in the daily tasks, and that, in addition to performing his military duties, this would not be inappropriate for the new fortification currently under construction, and therefore decides that this can be done outside the prejudgment of the E. Compe.

Thus done and resolved in the Fortress of Good Hope on the day and year aforesaid.
