In this regard, not only some various repairs but especially some necessary improvements, both to the equipment as well as the tear-pack house and otherwise, as well as the construction of a new residence to accommodate the Preacher De Vooght, are available, and the E. Company is not equipped with the necessary quantity of stones, and so the E. Hr. Commander in Council proposes that it would not be well to award the baking of a good amount of stones to citizen Wouter Mosstaert at the price set for this purpose, therefore not only the small amount approximately the Company. brick kiln is unsuitable to be able to bake durable and decent bricks from it, but even with all such brick baking no benefit can be found for the E. Company, and after this proposal was implemented by the Council as very useful, it was agreed with the aforementioned Mostaert that the same be delivered to the E. Company within a period of three months. will have to deliver 70 to 80,000 well-baked bricks and successively up to 200 (say, two hundred thousand), provided that ƒ6 is paid for each of the 1,000 bricks.
Thus done and resolved in the Fort of Good Hope on the day and year aforesaid.

Ten opsighte niet alleenigh nogh verscheijde reparatien maer insonderheijt eenige nootsaackelicke melioratien, zoo aan het equippagie als traenpackhuijs en andersindts, mitsgaders oock het opbouwen van een nieuwe wooninge tot accommoditeijt van den Predicant De Vooght voor handen zijn, ende d’ E. Compa. present van zoo een quantiteijt steenen daertoe vereijschende niet versien en is, zoo draaght d’ E.123 Hr. Commandeur in Raade voor, off men niet well zoude doen het backen van een goedt perthije steenen den borger Wouter Mosstaert tot den voor desen hierop gestelden prijs aen te besteden, mitsdien niet alleen d’ cleij omtrent ‘s Comps. steenoven onbequaem is, omme daervan durabele ende deuchtsaeme steenen te cunnen backen, maer oock bij al sulck steenbacken zelffs geen voordeel voor d’ E. Compa. can uijt gevonden werden, en nadat desen voorslagh als zeer dienstigh bij den Raadt g’amplecteert was, Is men met voorn. Mostaert veraccordeert, dat den selven in den tijdt van drie maend[en] aan d’ E. Compa. zall hebben te leveren in d’ 70 a 80000 well gebacken steenen ende voorts successivelijck tot 200 (zegge twee mael hondert duijsentstx. toe, mits betaelende voo[r] ijder 1000 stx. ƒ6 licht geldt.
