English translation

Aengesien Haer Edle. our Superiors in 't Patria at their Missive sub dated November 12 anno passo. have kindly ordered us, in addition to the Jachie Vredenburgh, to send three cornerers from here immediately and as soon as possible to Ceijlon upon its appearance, and so far only two such bottoms, namely Rotgans, and the Kockmeeu (both on April 28th at the same time) have navigated there, as if the Hoeker de Schollevaer (which would otherwise have been employed as a third party to that journey) last May, moved here on the beach and remained, but because of her EEdie. order to promptly pursue them, so we nominated the ship Isvogel (which arrived here on the 21st of July last month and was destined for Batavia) for this purpose, and made a sailing address here, with the intention of sending them in conjunction with the two Cijlon ships sent out, named Amersfoort and Sparendam, or one of them,26 also combined. However, with regard to the aforementioned ships, we judge them to be delaying them a little too long, and since the straight monsoon from here within Madagascar is now beginning to elapse, we did not want to delay the aforementioned ship any longer, but decided to let it choose the same sea, leaving its cargo (embarked for India) there, in the hope that The same cost is indeed necessary, and the E.E. Lords in Batavia are required to send it, thereby excusing and relieving themselves.

Thus done and resolved in the Fort of Good Hope on the day and year before.
