English translation

Noted the provisional lieutenant, Abraham Schut, for numerous slander and insults to the dishonor of Miss. Maria Prignon wed: the late Petrus Wachtendorp, in his lifetime a minister of the Divine Word here, had spoken falsely, behind his back, in a proper act of reclamation, before the commissioners of this venerable Council, and two members of the Church Council as witnesses, yesterday declared that the aforementioned charge and insults (containing in substance that the aforementioned lady lived in concubinage with her late husband and in that connection had produced children by the other, moreover that the said Wachtendorp had died unmarried) were spoken falsely, such was falsely conceived by him, and he who is of good heart, Thus it is understood and established in Council, as is understood and established provided that This, in the eyes of the Council, must and should be without prejudice and without notice, to exclude the aforementioned Schut from the Council, with an interdiction not to appear in any further meetings here, but to perform his military service as before, until such time as the Ceylon patriot ships arriving here, which he, along with them, can depart.

Thus done and resolved, in the Fort of Good Hope, on the day and year aforesaid.
