The E. Lord Commander, and the Council of the Fort of Good Hope, at Cabo de Boa Esperance & others yesterday in the evening meeting submitted a request in the form of an answer, in the name of and on behalf of Lieutenant Abraham Schut, finding11 Her E. that the aforementioned request contains nothing more than a calmunious12 fulmination than other inappropriate requests, and coming in the cash subject (regarding the proof of Maria Pringnon, widow of the late Petrus Wachtendorp, her allegedly illegitimate, as other dishonorable status) not appropriate, not even touching the principle. Therefore, the said E. Commander and Council once again order Schut to respond briefly in principle to the delivered certificates, without Her E. I want to delay her further with such tedious requests as the related documents.

Heer Commandeur, en den Raad van ‘t Fort de Goede Hoope, aan Cabo de Boa Esperance &a. gisteren in de avontvergaderinge seekere requeste bij forme van Antwoort, uijt den naem en wegens den luijtenant Abraham Schut ingelevert wesendebevindende11 Haar E. dat voorsz requeste niet anders is behelsende als eenige calmunieuse12 fulminatie als andere oneijgentlijke versouken, en komende in kas subject (nopende ‘t bewijsen van Maria Pringnon, weduwe zaliger Petrus Wachtendorp haers nagegeven onechte, als andere oneerlicke staet) niet appropos, ook rakende niet eens ‘t principael, So is ‘t voorsz E. Commandr. en Raad hem Schut nochmaels ordonneren, om in corte ten principaele op de overgeleverde attestatien te antwoorden, sonder dat Haar Ed. haar met sulcke traijnerende requesten als dienaengaende documenties, meer willen laten ophouden.
