Whereas on the 19th of this month, Michiel Roelofsz, the young captain, was deported by this Council and ordered to remain here at the Cape until he could depart for Batavia on another ship at the first opportunity, having committed several serious offenses and transgressions on board the ship moored here, named 't Wapen van Hoorn.
And since the aforementioned office is again being filled with a different, yet more capable and careful man than the aforementioned. has been a dismissed skipper, with the first will have to be supplemented. So, according to the matter, demand and weight at this meeting, it is understood and resolved that the old Pieter Willemsz van Weesp, skipper of the flute boat 't Waterhoen, present with it in the Saldanha-bhaeij, will be appointed as acting skipper on it, in order to depart with it for Batavia. To which end the said skipper will be warned of this tomorrow by our large chialoup and called here, on the other hand, Dirck Jansz Nuijs, chief captain of the said Hoorn ship, will have to go back to the Waterhoen as skipper on provisional basis, provided that this exchange must take place within a period of eight days, because in the event that the said skipper leaves on Sunday or at the latest If the ship does not appear next Monday, the aforementioned chief captain will necessarily have to remain and be used as a provisional skipper, although we would prefer otherwise for several good reasons.

Ende alsoo ‘t voorsz ampt weder met een ander doch bequamer en sorgvuldiger man als dese voorn. affgesette schipper geweest is, met den eersten sal dienen gesuppleert, Soo is na saecks eijsch ende gewicht te desen vergaderingh verstaen ende geresolveert, den ouden Pieter Willemsz van Weesp schipper van het fluijtscheepje ‘t Waterhoen leggende tegenwoordigh daermede in de Saldanha-bhaeij , als regerent schipper daerop te setten, om daermede na Batavia te vertrecken, Tot welcken eijnde de gemelte schipper morgen per onse groote chialoup hiervan sal gewaerschouwt en herwaerts geroepen werden, daerentegen sal weder op het Waterhoen bij provisie als schipper moeten overgaen Dirck Jansz Nuijs opperstierman van ‘t gemelte Hoornse schip, mits die verwisselingh binnen den tijt van acht dagen geschieden moet want bij aldien de gemelte schipper op Sondagh off uijtterlijck Maendagh aenstaende niet ten voorschijn compt soo sal de voorn. opperstierman daerop nootsakelijck moeten blijven en als provisionele schipper gebruickt werden alhoewel wij sulcx om verscheijde goede insichten liever anders sagen.
Echter om dat dit schip alreede een moeijelijcke reijs van over de acht maenden uijt Hollant tot hierentoe gehad heeft dient het selve daerom niet langer opgehouden.
