Since we can no longer have the flute ship Zee-Ridder perform any other or more necessary services here, other than now and then fetching consignments of shells for burning lime from Robben Island, as it is currently doing, and which are still under consideration, it is understood by this meeting that we will have the said ship depart from here again for Batavia in a day or so, seven or eight at the latest, and take that journey again over the islands of Madagascar and Mauritius, to collect, as before, the four precious return ships that are still missing: the Wapen van Hollandt, Aernhem, Prins Willem en Gekroonde Leeuw met d’Ede. Lord Admiral de Vlaming and other friends are to search for such places and bays there as the chiefs thereof shall prescribe and instruct, with the confidence that perhaps in one place or another, all or some of those scattered ships and unfortunate people will be encountered, and that with such glad tidings they may arrive at Batavia before the departure of the forthcoming return fleet, as their Honor there has already written and made known our intention in that regard in our latest letters dated last June 237 and eleventh August 237 by the ships Walcheren and the Court of Zeeland. To this end, the aforementioned ship will be provided with the first duly appointed men and, de novo, with all necessities for 4 or 5 months.

Dewijle wij ‘t fluijtscheepje de Zee-Ridder voortaen wijders geen ander noch nodiger diensten alhier cunnen laten doen, als ons soo nu als dan partije schelpen tot ‘et branden van kalck van ‘t Robbeneijlandt te halen, gelijck ‘t selve tegenwoordigh daerom uijt, en noch daermede besigh zij, Is te deser vergaderingh verstaen, dat wij ‘t gemelte scheepje over een dagh 7 off 8 ten langsten, weder van hier na Batavia sullen laten vertrecken, en die wederom reijs over de eijlanden Madagascar en Mauritius laten nemen, om als voren de als noch vermiste kostelijcke vier retourschepen, ‘t Wapen van Hollandt , Aernhem , Prins Willem en Gekroonde Leeuw met d’ Ede. Heer Admirael de Vlaming en voirdere vrunden op al sulcke plaetsen en in sodanige baijen aldaer op te soecken, als d’ opperhooffden daervan voorschrijven en instrueren sullen, met vertrouwen, dat op d’ een off d’ ander plaets misschien, alle off eenige van die verstroijde scheepen, en rampsalige menschen, wel sullen aen te treffen wesen, ende met sulcke blijde tijdingh noch voor ‘t vertreck der aenstaende retourvloot op Batavia cunnen comen, gelijck haere Ed. aldaer onse voornemen dienaengaende, bij onse jongste missiven in dato den laetstenJunij237 en elffden Augustij per de schepen Walcheren , en ‘t Hoff van Zeelandt al reede aengeschreven en bekent gemaeckt hebben. Tot dien eijnde sullen ‘t gemelte scheepje met den eersten behoorelijck doen mannen en de novo voor 4 off 5 maenden van alle nootdruften laten versien.
