English translation

As the Lord God has pleased to bless the growing of corn fairly this year on various lands, especially those of the E. Compe, so that some who have had to get their corn from the E. Compe for their bread will not only be able to live off their own but will also have something left over to give to the E. Comp. to deliver, to reduce their debts, etc. In order to encourage them even more for the necessary construction, it has also been approved, in the hope of a rice security from India, that the farmers, namely, are allowed to bring 1 1/4 bushel of their own corn for their and their household's use every month for each person, be it man, woman or girl, being allowed to bring 50 lbs. of corn for milling, and that this will also be ground for them in the first place, because those living in the country cannot come to the mill every day, and then those living here near the fort will have to pay the remaining time for Comps. full to grind are observed.

Reynier Drijver van Cleeff, arrived here on the ship Musquaetboom on July 23. 1660 for midshipman a 10 gl. per month, and currently provisionally occupying the vacant position of corporal in which until the date contentment is given, insight into his/her needs and qualifications is given in this regard. corporaelsqualite confirms and adds a reward of fourteen guilders in the month of the new year's day. 1662.

Thus done and resolved in the Fort of Good Hope on the day and year as above.
