After the distribution, amounting to ƒ2059.04 pmo in cash, was again made to the people last November, having found upon recording Comps. that the amount of money in stock was so much more than the remaining ƒ990.01 of the orphans of the deceased vendor Jan van Harwarden, all of which had been affected, arising principally from the payment of drinks for Batavia, fishing materials and various refreshments for the ships, in addition to the daily expenditure of board and subsidies, etc., it was unanimously agreed to strengthen Comps. cash, and in order to prevent the forfeiture of both, first, not to withdraw from the aforementioned orphans, above the 1,000 reales dated July 12th, the amount for the E. Compe., nor to deposit the 330 reales, being the aforementioned 990 guilders and a penny of the same, held in cash, and to add 20 like reales from the accrued interest, thus totaling three hundred and fifty reales of 60 stuivers each at 1/2 percent of the month, commencing November 12th, the month in which the aforementioned pennies were already in use.
Thus done and resolved at Fort de Goede Hope, on the date and year as above.
