After the end of the sermon this morning, the third call-up of the betrothed persons Jochum Blanck van Lubeeck, dispenser and holder of the soldier's books of the fortress of Good Hope, and Johanna Boddijs van Doesburgh, widow, had passed without the slightest hindrance, according to Christian custom. the late Jan van Harwarden, during his lifetime, was in the aforementioned fortress, and it had not occurred to us that they could or might have been delayed or hindered in their intentions. Therefore, the Council has understood, in accordance with the resolution of May 28th, to allow the further solemnization of the faithful in the name of the Lord to proceed, and to that end it has also been approved, so that everything may proceed lawfully and in good order to God's greatest glory, to have the said solemnization (as if without a minister) administered by the Secretary of our Council for all the people in an open council chamber, as on that date, after the reading of the Christian sermon in the name of the Lord, then publicly and it has been legally executed and has been effectuated.
Thus done and resolved in the Fort of Good Hope on the day and year as above.
