English translation

As during the most recent expedition carried out by the sub-cherurgy Pieter van Meerhoff with the emissaries of Oedasoa, the work was brought so far by the latter that peace was established between the Saldanhar and the Namaquas, and the aforementioned Namaquas200 promised to return here again against the coming dry spell, not only with a great deal of equipment, but especially, according to his instructions, with various things that he would bring from other nations from the country to show us here, among which would also be gold, etc., In order to keep the enthusiasts courageous, it was approved of the expeditioners, 9 strong, head by head, for this expedition, which was considerably more difficult than the previous one, as it had taken 6 days. Having traveled further and suffered considerable wear and tear on clothing, etc., each must be paid 4 reals in cash. As well as their well-kept ration of brandy to prevent any major damage, this is also understood to be paid in cash at the price it would be sold from Comp's warehouse. Furthermore, the former chief, Pieter van Meerhoff, has promised to have won double wages on this voyage, and to have the surplus paid in cash, and to set everything against extraordinary expenses, plus what has been paid and spent on provisions and merchandise for the aforementioned nation, etc., all of which must be properly paid.

And the governors also intend to keep the 3 envoys of Oedasoa and the 2 co-existed Hottentoos of the Caepmans as interpreters willing to always accompany and serve faithfully on all occasions. It is also understood that they should be presented with good honors to all in conformity with what has happened before.

Thus done and resolved in the Fort of Good Hope on the day and year as above.
