English translation
And we also saw the same intention of them to run away after Angola, our enemies places, and to commence various murders, departure from the fort, and hunting Erasmus, appearing closer to the pieces, the decision of which by the Commander and Council of the aforementioned fort has been delayed until our compest, and we considering that at least 8 to 10 days would pass before the aforementioned serious matter could be properly dealt with, to the great delay and hindrance of the aforementioned valuable return fleet, since the captains of those ships would have to be ashore daily for this purpose, which would greatly neglect their daily necessary shipwork. So it is (although our Lord Masters' order dictated by the general article letter, that all offences will be dealt with at the place where they occur), Considering the importance of the speedy departure of such a precious fleet as this one, it is unanimously agreed that the said delinquents will not be offended any further and not to proceed further in these matters, but to inquire about the further processing and forward it to their Honor at Batavia, with orders to the Commander and Council of this said fortress to send the delinquents divided on the first two ships arriving from homeland, separated two by two, to Batavia, with the documents and briefs attached thereto, in order to take the aforementioned oaths to make the necessary demands therein as they shall find to be appropriate.
Thus done and resolved, in the Fort of Good Hope on the date and year as above.
