English translation

The Council, after careful deliberation, has decided to allow the return fleet to put to sea, in order to be able to serve as a guard on all occasions with our letters of warning, etc., by having one of the free vessels moor above the crossing of Loenen, as far as the outermost corner of the Cape, behind some shelter, or elsewhere if that will be possible and feasible, in order to watch out for the fleet, and as soon as possible to notify any ships to sail there, wherever they are heading. must have, regardless of what may be required for their (boarded boats), and as agreed, for each letter they order to a return ship or, sailing behind in rough weather, modestly declare that they will have the right to know the ship or ships, to pay 8 pieces of eight, provided that the aforementioned fleet121 will be obliged to remain out until 20 minutes after, provided that they do not enter beforehand, but if they fail to arrive at any of them, their vain obligations will be reimbursed at their discretion.

To which end also Comps. the moored boat the sheep yacht will be kept constantly underway with similar letters in order to observe the fleet here before the mouth of the bay, where they often come well and by quickly south-east. easterly winds will mostly prevent the arrival of those who were previously still outside, out of the opinion of coming in safely, the aforementioned Loenen and freemen's vessel might have been despatched and then not waited for, however, by the aforementioned sheep hunts, sailing completely in accordance with the aforementioned letters of warning, they could still be ordered between Saldanha Bay and here and brought aboard, just as the freemen with their other vessel at Dassen Island also assumed for that purpose to watch out and beware of those of the aforementioned fleet that might fall so low, so now everywhere possible and practicable, the fleet is being looked after and is expressed, with the hope that the Lord may serve the Lord for the greatest benefit of the employed debvoirs of the E. Compe. please bless.

Thus done and resolved in 't Fort de Goede Hope date aforesaid.
