The commissioner, in accordance with the resolution of the day before yesterday, inspected the desolate return yacht Erasmus and found that the following necessities must be provided to continue his journey to the Netherlands. with which it is deemed sufficient to complete the aforementioned yacht's voyage to the homeland, understanding that if it is deemed appropriate, it will be left for the return fleet alone.
However, this decision was taken after further deliberation, and their Honour from the homeland expressly orders that the ships of the Dutch Company may not, for any reason other than absolute necessity of life and goods, call at ports other than the homeland's, and therefore expressly prohibit the return ships from passing through the Canal between England and France, but must take their voyage around the back, which must be done for this yacht Erasmus to Ulo. December or the beginning of January should not be expected here, as the time of the return fleet's arrival here is also approaching and would only require approximately 2.5 or 3 months longer at the latest, so that we could then sail much more securely to the Fatherland under its protection. Therefore, due to these and other fearful inconveniences, the majority of voices cannot understand the aforementioned return voyage from Erasmus to the arrival of the return fleet (expected 1/2 of February). to depart, but to postpone it afterwards, although the chiefs of that party voted to the contrary, and had the courage to take the voyage after IJ and Scotland 76 only by sea, and for that purpose to depart from here on the 1/2 or 3rd of December, as they stated that the yacht would slow down so much by staying here for so long that it would be impossible to maintain a fleet with the returning ships afterwards, etc., but in the meantime no resolution could be reached for an earlier departure only by sea, but as said by the majority of votes in favor of the E. Compe. deemed it more expedient to wait for the return fleet's arrival.
Jelle Hendricx van de Cuijnder arrived here on the galley Swarte Vos on June 4, 1653, for a pilot at 5 guilders per month, who had been staying with the French in Madagascar since the galley Tulp's misfortune. He later boarded the English ship Katarina and arrived at the island of Ansuanij on June 27, 1659. Having rejoined the return yacht Erasmus in Compe's service, he is therefore accepted for three years' pay at his request and discretion, as the time limit for this is also expired. 12 guilders per month, the ban and wages commencing on June 27th, mentioned above, which, as mentioned above, has returned to service on the aforementioned return yacht.
Willem Cornelis of Rotterdam, who arrived here on the ship Achilles on July 15th of this year, is paid 12 guilders for a trumpeter, which he presented to also fill the constable's position here and, having been found suitable for this after passing an examination, is also accepted for constable duty in addition to his trumpet qualifications, and for filling both positions, a reward of 20 guilders per month commencing today and remaining bound to serve out his time.

Februari te verwachten) te laten vertrecken, maer ‘t selve daer na op te houden schoon d’ opperhooffden van dien contrarie syn stemmende, ende moedt hebben alleen deur zee de reyse achter IJr . ende Schotlandt 76 om te nemen ende ten dien eynde 1/2 of ultimo December van hier te vertrecken, als inbrengende dat het jacht door ‘t langh leggen alhier soodanich soude verslimmen dat daer na onmogelyck soude wesen met de retourschepen vloot te cunnen houden &a., doch is des al niet jegenstaende geen resolutie cunnen vallen tot vroeger vertreck alleen deur zee, maer gelyck gesegt by de meeste stemmen voor d’ E. Compe. dienstiger g’oordeelt na de compste van de retourvloote te wachten.
Jelle Hendricx van de Cuijnder hier te lande gecomen met ‘t galjot de Swarte Vos den 4en Junij anno 1653 voor hooploper a 5 gulden per maendt welcke sedert ‘t verongelucken van ‘t galjot de Tulp op Madagascar bij de Francen verbleven synde, naderhant op ‘t Engels schip de Katarina geraeckt ende den 27en Junij 1659 aen ‘t eylandt Ansuanij 77 gecomen wesende aldaer sich aen ‘t retourjacht Erasmus in Comps. dienst weder heeft begeven, wort derhalven op sijn versoeck ende bequaemheijt vermits oock over tytsexpiratie bij desen voor drie jaren de nova aengenomen voor bossr. a 12 gul. ‘s maents ‘t verbant ende gagie ingaende 27 Junij boven genoempt, dat sich als voorsz aen gemelte retourjacht weder in Comps. dienst heeft begeven.
Willem Cornelis van Rotterdam, hier te lande gecomen met ‘t schip den Achilles 15en Julij deses jaers voor trompetter a 12 gulden welcke aenpresenterende om met eenen oock de constabelsplaets alhier waer te nemen ende daertoe na genomen examinatie bequaem bevonden sijnde, wort bij desen beneffens sijn trompettersqualite oock aengenomen voor constabel ende om beyde die plaetsen waer te nemen toegevoeght een belooninge van 20 gulden ter maendt heden ingaende ende verbonden blyvende daer voor sijn tyt uijt te dienen.

Waermede g’oordeelt wort voorsz jacht suffichant versien sal wesen dan syn reyse na ‘t vaderlandt te volvoeren verstaende als goedtgevonden wort ‘t selve voor de retour vloote te laten alleen vertrecken,
Doch sulcx in nader deliberatie genomen synde ende dat haer Ed. uijt vaderlandt wel expresselyck ordonneren dat de schepen van d’ E. Compe. om geenige redenen als uijterste noodt van lyff en goedt andere als de vaderlandtsz havenen vermogen aen te doen, ende de retourscheepen daeromme wel expresselijck verbieden ‘t Canaal tusschen Engelant ende Vranckryck deur te lopen, maer hunne reyse sullen moeten achterom neemen om ‘t welck te doen voor dit jacht Erasmus tot ulo. December of begin van Jannuarij soude dienen noch hier gewacht als wanneer de tyt van de comste der retourvloote alhier mede nabij compt ende maer omtrent 2 1/2 of 3 maenden langer ten uijttersten soude behoeven te leggen, omme als dan niet ende onder sauveguarde van deselve veel segourder na ‘t Patria te cunnen varen, geconsidereert oock datter om de noordt alsoo wel als in de hooffden ende over al in de Noordzee veele Engelse ende Sweetse caepers met Sweetse commissie syn grasserende ende dagelijcx scheepen van onsen staet stroopen ende roven, Soo is om die ende meer andere vresende inconvenienten bij de meeste stemmen niet cunnen verstaen worden meergemelte retourjacht Erasmus voor de aencompste van de retour vloote ( 1/2 off ulo. Februari te verwachten) te laten vertrecken, maer ‘t selve daer na op te houden schoon d’ opperhooffden van dien contrarie syn stemmende, ende moedt hebben alleen deur zee de reyse achter IJr . ende Schotlandt 76 om te nemen ende ten dien eynde 1/2 of ultimo December van hier te vertrecken, als inbrengende dat het jacht door ‘t langh leggen alhier soodanich soude verslimmen dat daer na onmogelyck soude wesen met de retourschepen vloot te cunnen houden &a., doch is des al niet jegenstaende geen resolutie cunnen vallen tot vroeger vertreck alleen deur zee, maer gelyck gesegt by de meeste stemmen voor d’ E. Compe. dienstiger g’oordeelt na de compste van de retourvloote te wachten.
Jelle Hendricx van de Cuijnder hier te lande gecomen met ‘t galjot de Swarte Vos den 4en Junij anno 1653 voor hooploper a 5 gulden per maendt welcke sedert ‘t verongelucken van ‘t galjot de Tulp op Madagascar bij de Francen verbleven synde, naderhant op ‘t Engels schip de Katarina geraeckt ende den 27en Junij 1659 aen ‘t eylandt Ansuanij 77 gecomen wesende aldaer sich aen ‘t retourjacht Erasmus in Comps. dienst weder heeft begeven, wort derhalven op sijn versoeck ende bequaemheijt vermits oock over tytsexpiratie bij desen voor drie jaren de nova aengenomen voor bossr. a 12 gul. ‘s maents ‘t verbant ende gagie ingaende 27 Junij boven genoempt, dat sich als voorsz aen gemelte retourjacht weder in Comps. dienst heeft begeven.
Willem Cornelis van Rotterdam, hier te lande gecomen met ‘t schip den Achilles 15en Julij deses jaers voor trompetter a 12 gulden welcke aenpresenterende om met eenen oock de constabelsplaets alhier waer te nemen ende daertoe na genomen examinatie bequaem bevonden sijnde, wort bij desen beneffens sijn trompettersqualite oock aengenomen voor constabel ende om beyde die plaetsen waer te nemen toegevoeght een belooninge van 20 gulden ter maendt heden ingaende ende verbonden blyvende daer voor sijn tyt uijt te dienen.
Aldus gedaen ende geresolveert in ‘t Fort de Goede Hope datum als voren.
