Thursday, June 12, 1659.

"The Council has assembled concerning the case of Lucas Caspersz of Neder Cassel to examine the facts of the horrific and abominable26 sod-like sins, partially disclosed to us by the boys Jan Franse Block and Barent Barentsz Noorman, after which, upon being questioned, they declare, once again, that the same had attempted to do work, but that his nature had not been successful and that it had only been against and not in the body of the young Jan Fransen, without more, etc. Dated above, subjoined and signed: CORNELIS REIJERS. CRIMPEN, ADRIAEN VAN DER GOES, HERMAN WILLEMSZ VOS, H.I.: the notice placed with HERMAN JANSZ, and DIRCK JANSE VAN DE VELDE, X: the notice placed with CORNELIS MARTENSZ.

Whereupon the aforementioned young Barent Barents, a Norman, was summoned and declared before the council of this fortress (fortified as above) that the person Luicas Caspersz had come to lie in bed with him and said, because he Barent Barentsz had indicated that he was sick and cold, that he would warm him up, and as if to do so, he had given him his manhood in his hand and had made him do the same things with his hand, which the boy also claims to have done.

After this boy was summoned before the council, young Jan Franse van der Block stated that Luijcas Caspersz had come to him three evenings in a row and had hit him from the front with his manhood on two evenings and from behind with his manhood on the third evening. He had not entered the body but had immediately fallen from the coffin (which lay on it). He had told the other boys the same thing. &a.

Whereupon the confessor Luijcas Caspersz of Neder Caspel, in connection with the aforementioned confession made before the ship's master of the ship Achillis, was read out word by word, distinctly. It remains that he confessed to the ship's master of the aforementioned, but that such evil deed had been committed so far. He says he doesn't know exactly, as he had been drunk at the time, but he did know that Jan France had removed his trousers and hit him bare, though not with the aforementioned limb.

And considering this matter, with the acquisition of further information and further proceedings, so much work would be required that it is inappropriate here. without loss of time and delay of the ships, could ultimately be concluded, and that this matter primarily requires people who are fully aware of the rights of India and fundamentally understand them, etc. Therefore, by a majority vote, it was approved not to discuss this further here, but to allow the delinquent and the boys, along with their documents, to depart for Batavia on this ship, and to report them to their Honor there (being the supreme right of India), in order to cause the aforementioned ships less disruption in their departure.30

The Commander (since the Council is thus united) has been informed of all the circumstances. the opportunity of war among the Hottentoes here, and that several enthusiasts or adventurers, numbering 15 to 20, are offering their services to launch an attack from the Saldanha Bay (sailing thither with our own and independent vessels) from behind on our enemies, where they have now retreated. According to everyone's advice and opinion, skipper Jacob Bartelsz, an experienced old man with much experience in the failure of certain matters, etc., after deliberating on everything, considering the many difficulties they are subjected to, they finally understand that it is not advisable at first, especially since one is enough to be able to set up and preserve the massacre around here, and to take care of it as best it sees fit and to keep an eye on those who come here to steal or kill the animals and commit arson: so as not to fall unknowingly on the wrong armies of the Saldanhars and thus incur too many enemies. because we can see that we can make so much play &a.

Thus done and resolved in 't Fort de Goede Hope date uts.
