English translation

As the Lord God has been pleased to come and visit us shortly for our transgressions, so with death under Comps. bestial, as well as with theft among the cattle of the freemen, by the war and murder of this country's brazen people (which fell upon us very suddenly and unsuspected) to the great detriment and oppression of the same and the total ruin of some farmers, while we have always and still very much remained willing to live and interact with the aforementioned nation in complete amicability and friendship, but seeing that this has not been of any use: but we have had to take up arms to oppose their willfulness (which they still do not deter), it has been decided that from now on every Wednesday afternoon around four o'clock a fast or prayer sermon will be delivered, to pray and We implore you to pray for us, and that His Mightiness please grant us His blessing and help against these aforementioned enemies, so that, having triumphed over them and preserved them, we may once again deal with them in peace and quiet. This will be announced to the congregation tomorrow after the Sunday sermon, so that everyone may prepare for it and be present at the appointed time at the place of the regular meeting for religious worship.

Thus done and resolved in the Fort of Good Hope, date as above.
