After the sermon had ended this morning, the third call of the betrothed, having passed without the slightest hindrance, according to Christian custom: Wouter Cornelisz Mostert, young man and freeman here, and Hester Weijers van Lier, young woman, had been sent to the ship Prins Willem, and had not arrived before us, which might have delayed or hindered them in their intentions. It was therefore understood by the Council, in accordance with the resolution of the last June Passado, to allow the further solemnization of the marriage to proceed in the Name of the Lord, and to that end it was also approved that everything might proceed lawfully and in good order (to God's greatest glory). the aforementioned solemnization (as if without a minister) by the Secretary of our Council, for the same, and all the people, to be served in an open council chamber, as this was done and effectuated publicly and legally on the date after the reading of the Christian sermon in the Name of the Lord.
Thus done in the Fort of Good Hope, date of this.
