Wouter Cornelisz Mostert of Utrecht, young man and free citizen523 here aged 23 years, having entered into a marriage vow with the honorable young daughter Hester Weijers of Lier aged 24 years in the service and under the guardianship of the chief merchant Willem Bastincq, on the ship Prins Willem moored here, and requesting permission from the same chief merchant to be legally confirmed with the other in the Holy Real State: and for that purpose to grant that their first commandment could be concluded today after the sermon by that above-mentioned ship presently sailing524 moored to depart with the first good wind. So it is in order to put the same ship in the matter mentioned above in not to delay or delay their voyage, etc., having been unable to learn from the Council of this fortress525 that both were liberal and free persons who, according to their own statement as well as the aforementioned chief merchant, had not understood anything in the world about what was outstanding, these young men agreed to their just request, and to that end and for that reason, to have their first prayers said this morning526 after the end of the Christian sermon, and likewise every Sunday until the third inclusive, in order that if no legal cause of impediment arose after the last call, the Secretary of our Council (since here no (having a minister) to have the solemnization for all the people take place in open council chambers, legally527, and to proceed publicly with fidelity.
Thus done and resolved in the Fort of Good Hope, date of this.
