After the sermon had ended this morning without the slightest hindrance, according to Christian custom, the third call having been made of the betrothed persons Hendrick Hendricxsz van Surwurde, young man and citizen here, and Grietge Fransz Meeckhoff van Steenwijck, young daughter, who had been conveyed on the ship Wapen van Amsterdam, and as nothing had occurred to us by which they might be delayed or prevented in their intention, it has been understood by the Council, following the resolution of the 6th Newspaper, to allow the further solemnization of the Trouw, in the Name of the Lord, to proceed, and to that end it has also been approved, so that everything may be done legally and in good order, until May God's greatest honor be granted to have the aforementioned solemnization (as if without a minister) administered by the Secretary of our Council, for the same and all the people, in an open council chamber, as was done and effectuated publicly and legally in the Name of the Lord after the reading of the Christian sermon.
Thus done in the Fort of Good Hope, date of this.
