Furthermore, some documents and papers were handed over to the chief captains of the ship Amersfoort in Rade against their former captain Thomas Peulman and a certain boy named Jacob Jorisz, who, together with the others, had allegedly committed some very nasty acts, and considering the rawness of the matter, which would entail so much work with the taking of further information and further proceedings, that it would not be possible for the present Council to settle it all together, since the said ships are all scheduled to depart within 3 or 4 days, and especially since such a matter requires people who fully understand the law, etc., Thus, A majority of votes understand that this should not be discussed further here; but the delinquents, with the aforementioned briefs, have agreed to depart for Batavia, where the high right of India and the situation are located: in order to be able to conduct legal proceedings there properly and to no longer trust the passengers490 on the ship Amersfoort, it has also been approved to transfer the cock to the Wapen van Amsterdam, and the young one to the flute, the Spreeuw, so that it may be separated from the others and all further misfortunes prevented as much as possible.

At this meeting, the surrogated skipper Jan Jansz Floderop, in place of the deceased skipper Andries Wolff on the ship 't Wapen van Amsterdam, requested confirmation in the skipper's office and an increase in salary,

And then the resolution adopted by the chief merchant Willem Reijers and the ship's council of the same ship was summarized, in which, both seen and heard from the same chief and under the merchant's mouth, it was stated that the aforementioned Jan Jansz Floderop, former chief helmsman, had been proposed as skipper by all the crew and was still recognized for this, etc., and furthermore that everything had been done properly upon the approval of the Honorable. Gentlemen, Governor-General and Councillors of India & Co., The Council has therefore decided to leave the aforementioned resolution in its entirety and not to elaborate on it further, but to reserve the confirmation and amendment entirely to the aforementioned ship's council, but to understand, upon further request of the substitute skipper, that it be reasonable that an authentic extract from the resolution of the aforementioned ship's council be granted to him, insofar as he is concerned.

Thus done and resolved at the Fort of Good Hope on the date and year as above.
