Having considered this entirely necessary and without the burden of the E. Compe, it would be very convenient for him to acquire the aforementioned piece of forest, along with a plot of 20 morgen of land located approximately on the aforementioned forest hill against the forest hills, for cultivation; provided that, in the place of this agreed-upon time, he must remain a freeman for at least 15 years and summon his wife from the homeland at the first opportunity, as granted in the free letter.
Thus done and resolved at the Fort of Good Hope, date as above.

Soo is ingesien sulx gansch nootsaeckelijck sij, ende buijten last van d’ E. Compe. seer gerieffelijck sal vallen hem ‘t selve stuck bos ten eijnde voorsz toegestaen ende vergunt, neffens oock een perck van 20 mergen lants, daer omtrent op voorsz bosheuvel tegen de bosbergen gelegen om te bebouwen; mits in plaetse van desselffs verbonden tijt hier in vrijdom te woonen nu ten minsten 15 jaren sal moeten vrijman blijven ende sijn vrouw met d’ eerste gelegentheijt uijt ‘t vaderlandt ontbieden, volgens de vrijbrieff hem verleendt.
Aldus gedaen ende geresolveert in ‘t Fort de Goede Hoope datum als boven.
