English translation

This morning, praise God, the yacht Maria arrived here from the Fatherland, destined together with the yacht Hasselt, which has not yet arrived, to sail from here to the coasts of Guinea and Angola for the slave trade, etc. And noting in the invoices and bills of lading that, besides some necessities for these places, various goods are also loaded for India, according to the letters received from our Lords Masters from the Amsterdam Chamber, who hereby order such to proceed to Batavia on the first ship arriving here, and since the yacht Hasselt, as mentioned above, has not yet appeared, this small yacht Maria cannot yet be sent on the aforementioned voyage, since the cargo for the aforementioned trade has been shipped in Hasselt, and we also remain subject to the aforementioned letters and orders from our Lords Masters for that traffic, etc. Having received the letters concerning this yacht, Maria 362, the copy of the instructions for the aforementioned voyage, the chiefs decided not to give them, and yet to state that the letters contained them. After careful deliberation, it was decided that whatever was shipped for the Cape in this yacht should first be brought to shore and placed at hand before Batavia, so that, in the meantime, some of the Company's ships arrived, it could then be shipped from the common yacht. In order to be subject to the least possible spillage or leakage of oil and fat, and also to minimize damage to the sawmill's tools and the grenades for India loaded therein.

And regarding the lot in d. It was decided to also remove the yachts from the ship and have them brought ashore, as well as to refill the area with stone ballast to keep the yacht watertight; and then, according to the order of our Lord Masters, to have them sail from the Netherlands on the first arriving ship to India.

Thus done and resolved at the Fort of Good Hope on the day and year as above.
