As Cristiaen Jansz van Hoesum and Pieter Cornelisz van Langesont request to be granted freedom here, and since the Electoral Company cannot accommodate them with any oxen (as they themselves lack), their principal duty is to serve as wardens under the aforementioned conditions and with all the same privileges as the other freed persons. Therefore, they are granted the same under these aforementioned separate conditions, namely:
Firstly, that no one outside of them shall be licensed to shoot or otherwise catch any warden, whether with guns, nets, snares, or whatever. Servants, nor freemen of any condition, other than on their own land, and any found elsewhere or outside it, will forfeit their guns, nets, and other instruments if they are found outside their land, along with a fine of 6 ra., payable for each offense, half of which will be paid by the free hunters.
However, harmful animals such as lions, tigers, wolves, leopards, etc., remain free to shoot and capture for the bonuses provided.
Furthermore, the common free hunters are required to sell their wild boar to Comps. Servants and freemen residing here, for the price determined for the date, namely:
1 pheasant for 8 stuivers.
1 horse for 6 stuivers.
1 goose.
1 duck for 4 stuivers.
1 turnip for a similar size for 2 stuivers.
1 pigeon.
1 curlew.
1 elant for 12 guilders, the same as for a cow.

However, as regards poultry, they may sell to passing ships for as much as they can afford, but not cattle, elk, deer, or similar, all of which must be delivered to the E. Compe. at the aforementioned price. If they are caught by snares, nets, or otherwise, as much poultry, geese, ducks, or similar, as will be used to provide Compe.'s garnishment in lieu of salt meat and speck, they will do so. Poultry will then be taken from the E. Company, namely:
1 goose for 4 and } and other poultry as appropriate.

And since these common people cannot be accommodated with oxen or other tools to cultivate the land, they are also permitted, in order to be better able to get on their feet, to set up a tap, provided that the strong drink is not brought from the incoming ships, but from the E. Company. Buying from a warehouse here, and having been and will continue to be so, and remaining subject to such further orders as may be devised from time to time, further and under similar conditions as those granted to other freemen, maintaining the free trade of goods with the inhabitants, provided, as aforementioned, that they remain free here for 20 years and are also permitted, as stated, to engage in all permitted commercial trading, fishing, etc., all subject to the further approval of the Majors, according to the letters of indemnity provided to them.
And as it has become apparent to us that those of Harmans Company, contrary to their conditions, with the Rev. Mr. Commissioner van Goens, last month of June, sold to the English ship Wilcom an ox and two sheep, of which the Rev. Compe. was so sparsely provided that their own ships could not be accommodated with them for their refreshment as required, much less the garrison here be fed, according to the Rev. Compe.’s intention. Therefore, in order to prevent this from happening in time, we have seen fit to expressly interdicate and prohibit the same, as well as to have it pronounced and posted in the appropriate place, Extract from the conditions, by the aforementioned Rev. Commissioner. made with the same, as well as to add thereto in case of violation, the following:
That if any of the freemen is found after this to have sold any cattle, sheep, pigs, elk, deer, hinds, roebuck, and the like to any foreign or even to the Company's own ships, they will each forfeit a pen of 20 ra. of 8, and that for as many cows, oxen, calves, sheep, or other animals (mentioned above) as are found to have been sold to the aforementioned ships without the consent of the Commander, as that delivery the E. Company made to itself is conservative, and any surplus the freemen have must be delivered to the E. Compe. at the price agreed upon or yet to be estimated.
Also, no cattle shall be slaughtered for themselves or for others without notifying the Commander, as mentioned above, on the skin of the slaughtered animal or sheep, to ensure that the breeding does not suffer any disadvantage. Any cattle slaughtered with the consent of the freemen, as mentioned above, may then be sold to residents here, but no others, namely: sheepmeat for three stuivers and cattle or venison for 2 stuivers per lb.
However, no Compe. servants may pledge higher bonds than the value of a shilling, so that the common people are not excluded, on the grounds of negligence.
Thus done and resolved in the Fort of Good Hope on the date and year as before.
