Why Are Some Years Not Available?

Although our collection covers the period from 1950 to 1986, some years are not available.

There are two main reasons for this.

Poor-Quality Scanned Images

There were a number of original records that were scanned at a very low quality. In these cases, the names and other information are difficult or impossible to read accurately.

Rather than publishing scans where the information cannot be clearly read, GenDatabase.com has chosen not to publish these images.

Years Not Published

Some years were not published in the available Transvaal matriculation results.

In certain years, the pass rate was very low, and the Transvaal Education Department did not publish the matriculation results for those years in the same way as the other years.
